Brief Profile
The name Fijai was carved from "Afei Gyae Me" in common parlance, literally means "Now leave me alone". From a very humble beginning, the school got under way in 1952 as Sekondi Day Secondary School, as part of the 1951 Accelerated Plan for Education of the then Gold Coast Government.The school was commissioned by the Paramount Chief of Essikado, Nana Kobina Nketsiah IV on the 29th of January 1952 with thirty-eight (38) students; thirty-two (32) boys and six (6) girls. School was conducted in the buildings of the Sekondi Old Hospital till it moved to its current site in 1955 where it assumed its present name Fijai Secondary School and recently changed to Fijai Senior High School.
