St. Ignatius of Loyola Senior High

Brief Profile

St. Ignatius of Loyola Senior High School was established on 3rd May, 1995 by the Catholic Diocese of Wa. The idea of establishing a secondary school was mooted by the chief and people of Jenbob to the then Bishop of Wa and now Archbishop Emeritus, Gregory Kpienbaya, in the late 1980s, to cater for the youth of secondary school going age.

The school was formally absorbed into the public system in 1997. The school was named after a Jew in Loyola named St. Ignatius, who was credited with this popular saying: “if the Saints can do it, why can’t I?”
