St. Francis Girls Senior High

Brief Profile

St. Francis Girls Senior High School is the only Girls school in the Upper West Region and it is situated in Jirapa District. It was the second school which was opened in 1959 after Tamale Senior High School (Tamasco) in the whole of the Northing Sector. The school was opened by the Roman Catholics in 1959 led by the late Cardinal Porekuu Dery and Bishop Champagne and then staffed by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary sisters (FMM) with thirteen girls.

VISION

To attain and maintain a high level of self-discipline through the enforcement of the school rules and regulations. To achieve a high sense of team sprite through unity and co-operation.

MISSION

St. Francis Girls’ Senior High School exists to provide holistic education inspired by Catholic values to nurture girls into women of dignity and productive citizens in an environment of discipline, unity and peace.
