Brief Profile

Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School, originally known as Saltpond Girls, was established in 1960 by the late Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, President of the first republic of Ghana in appreciation of the role the people of Saltpond, especially the women, played in the political history of the country.

Mfantsiman Girls' Secondary School was formerly known as Saltpond Girls' Secondary School. The name was changed to Mfantsiman when the District of Saltpond became the District of Mfantsiman. The school was founded by the late Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, President of the First Republic of Ghana as a special gesture of appreciation to the people of Saltpond for the part the town played in the political history of the country. His aim was to empower girls in the area and in addition establish a Polytechnic for girls.

VISION

Mfantsiman Girls SHS seeks to provide education to all girls at the second cycle level to enable them acquire skills that will assist them to develop their potentials.

MISSION

The school is charged with the responsibility of implementing the second cycle aspects of the goals of the Ministry of Education in order to achieve high quality secondary education and training relevant to the manpower needs of the country and making it accessible to all girls at the Senior High School level.
