Brief Profile

Afua Kobi Ampem Girls' SHS was established in 1975 by General Ignatius Kutu Acheampong who was the former head of state of Ghana and a native of Atwima Hwidiem which is next to Atwima Trabuom where he attended his elementary school. General Ignatius Kutu Acheampong noticed the pains and suffering he went through when he attended his elementary school, he realized the poor facilities and lack of skilled personnel were big problems hindering the school and that made him establish the school. The school was formally called Trabuom Senior High School in 1975. After some time, it was changed to Atwimaman Secondary School in 1980 which was still a mixed school, at that time the total number of students in the school was two hundred and fifty(250).

VISION

To become a model Science School for girls and to provide a comprehensive academic and skills acquisition foundation for the girls to pursue further academic studies or develop their skills to become functional in the society.

MISSION

A commitment to provide relevant education to students to enable them acquire the necessary skills that will assist them to identify their talents, and to develop their potentials to become productive in future to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
